Journalists worldwide who have reported on the human rights and religious freedom issues in India can compete for an award.
Entries are being accepted for the Human Rights & Religious Freedom Journalism Awards, sponsored by the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC). The awards recognize courageous, groundbreaking, and in-depth reporting on pressing issues concerning Indian minorities and marginalized communities
Journalists can submit entries in four categories: Best Text Reporting on Human Rights and Religious Freedom; Best Photo Story on Human Rights and Religious Freedom; Best Video Story on Human Rights and Religious Freedom; and the HRRF Young Journalist of the Year Award 2022.
Winners in each category will receive INR50,000 (US$658) and a plaque.
Reports published between January 1, 2021 to March 12, 2022 are eligible for submission.
IAMC will also honor independent media organizations with the Human Rights and Religious Freedom Journalism Bravery Award. The winner of this award will receive INR100,000 (US$1,316) and a plaque.
The deadline is April 12.
